The Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Department is responsible for the following: - 

• Supervising the Ministry's general strategic plans and objectives, and following up on their implementation.
• Participating in preparing national plans regarding the Ministry's areas of work.
• Coordinating with the Ministry's administrative units and affiliated entities regarding preparing the annual estimated budget and communicating with the relevant authorities.
• Participating in committees concerned with the Ministry's planning and budget activities and work.
• Applying quality processes with the aim of rationalizing costs, optimal investment of resources, and achieving goals.
• Assisting administrative units in preparing their development plans and programs and placing them in a unified plan for the Ministry, and taking the necessary steps to approve them.
• Participating in local and international conferences and seminars held in the field of planning regarding the Ministry's work in coordination with the relevant authorities.
• Providing opinion, advice, and assistance to all institutions and administrative units in the Ministry in matters related to planning activity.
• Preparing progress reports on the Ministry's plans, annual achievement reports, and a follow-up report on the transformation budget in coordination with the relevant authorities.
• Enhancing cooperation in the fields of research and development between the Ministry and other institutions.
• Submitting periodic reports on the administration’s activities. 12. Any other tasks assigned to it in accordance with applicable legislation.
